Last week, I
visited the Otago museum with my classmates and the teacher in order to prepare a
speech about Maori culture. My group topic is maori food and medicine. I asked
the museum staff questions about Maori food and medicine with my partner
Molly. The staff told us there is not much information about Maori food and
medicine. However, she said that she is a Maori and she would help us. We were
so lucky! Then she told us several main food and herb. Then, I visited the
places we were interested in with Molly. We visited the Pacific origins which has
many kinds of animals, such as seals, butterflies, sheep, arachnids, lizards and
so on. Molly told me she has a pet lizard. I felt amazing. It is a special pet.
She is an audacious girl. We also saw the Moa. It looked a fairly big bird. It
is taller than a human and it was about 250kg. When I visited the Pacific
origins, I could go into the wildlife world. I felt fantastic and interesting.
What a exciting experience. Possibly I will visit the Otago Museum again.
