Maori Culture
Last Thursday, I had a speaking test in my class. I and my partner introduced about Maori
timeline, wars and living conditions. It
was hard works for us because we had to understand a lot of difficult words
when we searched information.
The hardest task was to catch
only important events. In addition, I
changed them to easy words to have my classmates understand. The task also was difficult for me. When I searched about Maori timeline, I found
so many events. Then, I felt
troublesome. However, I read them and
understood perfectly. I think that the
tasks must improve my English skills.
And, I knew much about Maori culture.
The ancestor of Maori were a Polynesian people. These people arrived in New Zealand on seven
canoes from Hawaiki in 1300. This
picture shows that.
I also suppose that this speaking assignment fosters our English skills, such as communicative skills, writing skills, vocabulary growth.
