Fascinating Museum

Today, I visited the Otago Museum in the class activity.  In fact, I have been there with my friends once.  Then, I could not have fun because I was not interested in Maori culture.  However, I know something about Maori now.  So, I really enjoyed this time.

In the museum, I found a big canoe.  I wondered it was the canoe which early Polynesian had use to migrate to New Zealand from their ancestral homeland of Hawaiiki.  The reason for this is that I searched about Maori’s historical timeline for speaking test.  There was explanation about the canoe, which was too difficult to understand for me.  I asked my teacher what this canoe was and what the purpose of this canoe was made for.  Surprisingly, it was made for wars.  However, it was never used at all.  I thought why it was not done.   I would like to ask someone when I will go there next time.

In addition, I watched a video about Maori, some jewels made with stones, traditional clothes and historical crafts.  All of them made me inspire.  I had especially great interest in the Maori crafts.  They were so fascinating for me!

Finally, I learned and was interested in Maori culture than before.  I thought that the culture are traditional, great, fantastic and amazing.  I will go there again certainly.
