Hello, everyone!

     Nice to meet you.  I am Haruna Kayashima.  Now I would like to introduce myself.  I am 20 years old.  I was born in Aichi, Japan in 1996.  I live with my host mother, my host father and my four host siblings in Dunedin.  I do not feel bored because I have a large host family. 

 

     On weekdays, I go to University of Otago Language Centre to learn General English and IELTS skills.  I love really here for several reasons.  Firstly, I can improve my English skills.  There are a lot of good teachers in the UOLC.  They always give exciting lessons to me.  In addition, I like the facilities of the UOLC.  I often use the gym and kitchen.  The gym is especially important for me.  The reason for this is that I have got fat since I came to New Zealand!  I have to be slim.  To top off these points, I enjoy talking with my friends every day.  When I spend these times with my friends, I can speak English pleasantly.  I think that is the best way to progress with speaking and listening skills. 

 

     On a typical weekday evening, I spend much time with my host brothers.  They like playing games and taking many photos.  So, they use my smart phone.  I like this time because I really love the children.  They are friendly, curious and honest.  However, my smart phone is just one.  Therefore, they sometimes argue and say to me, “He is using your phone for a long time!  Can I have my turn now?”  Then I say to them, “You have to return my phone.”  I do not want them to quarreling.  Now, I am looking for the best way without quarrel.  If you have some ideas, please tell me them.

 

     On Saturdays and Sundays, I often go to various places.  For example, Queenstown, Otago Peninsula, and some markets.  I enjoy every holiday with my friends.  Recently I have cooked Japanese foods because I have missed them.  On Mondays, I sometimes take them for my friends.  They are very glad when they eat the dishes which I have made.  I really enjoy these times.
